Pune: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has conducted the Eligibility Test (SET) for the post of Assistant Professor. We have also prepared for the entrance exam (PET). The management council has approved the university’s decision to conduct the PET exam in February 2024. Therefore, students will soon get the opportunity to get ph.d. admission in research centers in Pune, Ahmednagar and Nashik districts. (PET Exam SPPU 2024)

A meeting of the management council was held on Saturday under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Dr Suresh Gosavi. The meeting was attended by the pro-vice-chancellor of the university. Dr. Parag Kalkar, In-charge Registrar Dr. Vijay Khare, Management Council Member Rajendra Vikhe-Patil, Dr. Devidas Waidande, D.B. Pawar, Sagar Vaidya, Bageshree Manthalkar and others were present.

The management conference discussed the new functioning of the university, recruitment of professors, approval of the letter of intent of the new colleges, etc. The university’s decision on the PhD admission process has come as a big relief to the students. Meanwhile, necessary preparations were being made to implement the PhD admission process as per the new rules of the University Grants Commission.

In the future, a research guide from the same place where the research centers are located will be able to take students for ph.d. As a result, ph.d. admission seats will decrease to some extent in the coming years. The University received its Ph.D. in November 2022. The admission process was carried out. A year later, a new admission process was announced.

Dissatisfaction with the administration’s handling of the administration

Sagar Vaidya alleged that the resolutions of the university’s governing body and management council were being shown as a basket of bananas. “Many files related to the university’s work are pending for months,” he said. Faculty recruitment, net-set scholarship, pramad committee several topics are pending. Also, the proposed functioning (SOP) of the university is a threat to democracy. Many members have expressed their displeasure over the functioning of the administration in the meeting,” he said.
