Recalled Space Heaters: Over 500,000 Space Heaters Sold on Amazon Recalled After Fire Hazard Reports

Recalled Space Heaters: More than 500,000 space heaters sold on Amazon and other platforms are being urgently recalled due to serious fire and burn risks. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced Thursday that GoveeLife and Govee Smart Electric Space Heaters have a dangerous flaw: they can overheat, potentially causing fires and injuries.

Approximately 512,500 of these space heaters were sold in the United States, and an additional 48,600 were sold in Canada. The CPSC revealed that the units failed to meet the voluntary industry safety standard, UL 1278, and that wireless control features contributed to the overheating hazard.

The recall comes after 113 overheating reports, including seven instances of fire and one minor burn injury. The space heaters, sold from September 2021 to 2024, were available on Amazon, the Govee website, the Govee Home App, and TikTok Shop, priced between $30 and $150. Affected models include H7130 (and H7130101 variation), H7131, H7132, H7133, H7134, and H7135, with “GoveeLife” or “Govee” marked on the units.

What Consumers Should Do

If you own one of these recalled space heaters, immediately stop using the product. Unplug the heater, cut the power cord, and submit images of the damaged heater along with the manufacturer’s label and SN Code via GoveeLife’s recall website at https://recall.goveelife.com/heater-recall to receive a refund.

Refunds range from $31.80 to $106.63 for customers without the original order number. However, customers who can provide proof of purchase will receive a full refund. Order numbers can be found in your purchase history on online sales platforms.
