The Boston Bruins have signed Fraser Minten to a seven-year contract extension worth $50.4 million, securing the young forward through the 2033-34 NHL season.
The deal carries an average annual value of $7.2 million and represents a significant long-term commitment from Boston to Minten, who joined the organization during the 2025-26 season.
The Bruins announced the extension Sept. 8, 2026.
Minten, 22, was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs with the 38th overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft before joining Boston during the 2025-26 campaign.
In his first season with the Bruins, Minten appeared in 62 games and recorded 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points. He also added two goals and three assists in 11 playoff games.
The forward’s production gave Boston a reason to make a substantial long-term investment as the team continues shaping its roster for the future.
The $50.4 million agreement gives Minten a $7.2 million average annual value over the seven-year term.
The extension keeps him under contract with Boston through the 2033-34 season, providing the Bruins with extended cost certainty around one of their young forwards.
For Minten, the agreement represents his first major long-term NHL contract and a clear indication of Boston’s confidence in his development.
The Bruins’ decision also comes as the club looks to build around a younger core while maintaining continuity within its lineup.
Before becoming a full-time NHL player, Minten spent time in the Western Hockey League with the Kamloops Blazers and Saskatoon Blades.
His path to Boston began with Toronto’s selection of him in the second round of the 2022 draft. After moving into the Bruins organization, he established himself as an NHL contributor during the 2025-26 season.
Now, the Fraser Minten extension gives him seven more seasons to develop within Boston’s system while giving the Bruins a significant piece of their long-term roster plans.
