Blade: In a significant shift for Marvel fans, Disney has officially removed the highly anticipated reboot of Blade, originally scheduled for release on November 7, 2025. Mahershala Ali’s well-known character will now have to wait longer for his cinematic comeback as Disney has chosen to release Predator: Badlands, the most recent entry in the renowned Predator franchise.

The decision to pull Blade from the release calendar comes after a series of delays and production setbacks, including the exit of two directors, Bassam Tariq and Yann Demange, as well as the impacts of the global pandemic and industry strikes. Marvel has been careful to ensure that the Blade film meets high expectations, with Kevin Feige emphasizing the importance of crafting a standout script before moving forward.

Initially announced at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, Blade was poised to reinvigorate the character last seen in the Wesley Snipes trilogy, which began in 1998. The project was met with excitement but has faced multiple delays. Despite the setbacks, fans remain hopeful, as Mia Goth has been cast to play the supervillain Lilith, and insiders suggest Marvel is committed to producing a Blade movie that lives up to its legacy.

In addition to the Blade news, Marvel has added three untitled films to its schedule for February 18, 2028, May 5, 2028, and November 10, 2028. As the studio reshuffles its release calendar, fans are eager to see how these changes will impact the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Mahershala Ali’s unexpected cameo in the record-breaking Deadpool & Wolverine, which has made over $1.3 billion worldwide, has fueled the anticipation for his portrayal of Blade even though the release date is still unknown. While Blade may be off the schedule for now, the enduring interest in the character suggests that fans will be eagerly awaiting further updates on his return to the big screen. Stay tuned for more developments on this iconic Marvel character as they unfold!
