PM Internship Scheme: Over 90,000 Internship Opportunities in Leading Companies, ₹5,000 Monthly Stipend Offered

New Delhi: The much-anticipated PM Internship Scheme has officially opened for registration, with over 90,800 internship positions available through 193 companies on the designated portal. Starting October 12, interested candidates can register online at pminternship.mca.gov.in to seize this opportunity.

The initiative, launched to bridge the gap between education and employment, aims to provide young individuals with invaluable work experience in top companies such as Jubilant Foodworks, Maruti Suzuki India, Eicher Motors, Larsen & Toubro Limited, Muthoot Finance, and Reliance Industries. These companies have detailed their internship offerings on the portal, making it easier for aspiring interns to explore opportunities tailored to their career aspirations. PM Internship Scheme Expected Impact

The government anticipates that by April, approximately 1.25 lakh candidates will benefit from this scheme. The portal was introduced on October 3 to streamline the process of connecting students with potential internship roles. The pilot project for the internship program will commence on December 2, providing practical training to participants.

PM Internship Scheme Opportunities

As of October 11, the total number of internships available surged to 90,849, spanning across 24 sectors. The most significant opportunities are found in the Oil, Gas, and Energy sector, followed by Travel, Hospitality, Automotive, Banking, and Financial Services. Over 20 fields are covered, including Operations Management, Production and Manufacturing, Maintenance, Sales, and Marketing. These positions are distributed across 737 districts in 36 states and Union Territories.

PM Internship Scheme Announcement and Financial Support

This initiative was initially announced in the Union Budget, aiming to provide internships to 1 crore candidates aged between 21 and 24 within the next five years, enhancing their employability. Participants will receive a monthly stipend of ₹5,000 for up to 12 months, along with a one-time grant of ₹6,000.

PM Internship Scheme Eligibility Criteria

Eligible applicants for the PM Internship Scheme include students who have completed their 12th grade and are pursuing further studies through online or distance education. Candidates must be aged between 21 and 24 years to qualify for the program.
