San Francisco 49ers News: The San Francisco 49ers have made their Christian McCaffrey’s anticipated comeback known to their followers. Following a season rife with many ailments, including Achilles tendinitis, the top running back has been allowed to resume practice with his colleagues. This offers the club, which aims to raise its attacking capacity fresh optimism.

After their bye week in Week 9, the 49ers activated McCaffrey’s injured reserve practice window, therefore allowing him the chance to return to the roster as early as Week 10 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. McCaffrey may just play a few plays to guarantee a consistent recovery; this is likely to be a slow comeback. Knowing that re-aggravating the hamstring may spell the end of the season, the club is eager to prevent any further setbacks.

Expressing delight over McCaffrey’s comeback, teammate and All-Pro Trent Williams described it as a “unbelievable feeling.” Williams claims that McCaffrey’s attendance at practice has improved the squad. “Just seeing 23 out there warming up—gave me a boost and I’m sure the rest of the guys felt it too,” he added.

Williams called McCaffrey “offensive player of the year” and underlined his crucial contribution to the 49ers’ attack as he can effortlessly boost any offense. The timing could not be better as the 49ers enter the second half of the season in search of a playoff spot.

Jordan Mason has led the club with 685 running yards and three touchdowns in McCaffrey’s absence; youngster Isaac Guerendo has contributed 227 yards on the ground. While McCaffrey’s injury has allowed other players a chance to shine, Williams pointed out that his comeback would “absolutely boost” the team’s offensive capability approaching the playoffs.

McCaffrey’s comeback also fits the rehabilitation schedules for linebacker Dre Greenlaw, who visited the practice field for the first time since an injury of his Achilles tendon during Super Bowl LVIII. The 49ers will be more robust going into their Week 10 matchup against the Buccaneers with this dual return.
