Lloyd Cushenberry Injury: Tennessee Titans center Lloyd Cushenberry is facing a significant setback, with reports suggesting he has suffered a season-ending Achilles injury. Initially reported as an ankle issue during Sunday’s game against the New England Patriots, Cushenberry’s condition now appears more serious. Coach Brian Callahan described it as an “ankle of some sort,” but concerns are growing that it could be a torn Achilles, which would require further confirmation via MRI.
Cushenberry, who signed a lucrative four-year, $50 million contract with the Titans in the offseason, has been a key component of the offensive line, playing every offensive snap across seven games this season. Despite mixed performance evaluations, his leadership as one of the team’s five captains has been invaluable.
In his absence, backup Corey Levin stepped in, but it is expected that Daniel Brunskill will assume the starting center role moving forward. Brunskill had been filling in at right guard due to Dillon Radunz’s foot injury, highlighting the Titans’ current struggle with depth along the offensive line.
This latest injury adds to Cushenberry’s troubled injury history, having missed games due to a groin injury in previous seasons. The Titans will need to adapt quickly as they navigate the remainder of the season without one of their starting offensive linemen.
