Aryna Sabalenka: Alexander Zverev’s victory at the Paris Masters marked the end of the last tournament on the ATP Tour.

Zverev won a “difficult” final at the Paris Masters, in which he defeated the heavy favorite Ugo Humbert 6:2, 6:2 in 75 minutes.

Jannik Sinner’s absence from the Paris Masters let the draw be freely accessible. The Italian left the event, same as Novak Djokovic.

Making advantage of the fast courts, Zverev won his second in 2024 and seventh career ATP Masters 1000 title.

The Paris Masters was held on the Boulevard de Bercy in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, but that will change next season.

The hard-court tournament will be moved to La Defense Arena in 2025 to provide optimal conditions for the players and fans.

Sam Querrey describes the Paris Masters as “the worst” ATP Tour event

Zverev will be delighted with his success, but the tournament didn’t appeal to Sam Querrey, as he said in the latest episode of Nothing Major: “The tournament is not even in Paris. It’s about 20 minutes outside of Paris, it’s 40 degrees, there’s nothing to do. 8am, the sun goes down at 4pm. That’s the worst.

“I love Paris. This is 20 minutes outside Paris in Bercy. When you have this tournament, you can’t go to the Eiffel Tower or the nice restaurants. You have to take the metro and drive about 30 minutes in

The crowd at the Paris Masters inspires Alexander Zverev

Former tennis player Querrey may not have enjoyed the tournament, but it was certainly an exciting event for the spectators at the Paris Masters.

Several French players, such as runner-up Humbert, have really impressed on home soil and the nation certainly has an exciting future ahead on the tennis court.

Humbert picked up excellent wins against Carlos Alcaraz and Karen Khachanov before losing out to Zverev, with the fans no doubt spurring him on.

The German, meanwhile, beat stars such as Holger Rune and Stefanos Tsitsipas before finally beating Humbert.

Zverev and Alcaraz loved the Paris Masters crowd, with the former now overtaking the latter in the ATP Tour rankings with his latest title.
