SPPU News: Extension of application deadline for the post of Vice-Chancellor

Pune – Savitribai Phule Pune University has extended the deadline to apply for the post of Vice-Chancellor. Earlier, August 18 was the deadline for the post of principal. With seven days left for it, the university administration extended the deadline, raising the eyebrows of many. Candidates can now apply till 28 August. (SPPU News Today)

Discussions are now going on in the university circles about giving this extension so that the Vice-Chancellor of the university is not selected before the election of the Vice-Chancellor. The selection for the post of Vice-Chancellor is likely to be announced by the end of August.

At present, the process of selection of deans for four faculties namely Science and Technology, Interdisciplinary Studies, Humanities and Commerce and Management is underway. Applications have been invited from the aspirants for the same. So far more than 50 applications have been received and most applications are for Science and Technology Faculty.

The last date to apply for the same was given till August 18. There are still seven days left for this deadline. But before that, the university administration has hurriedly issued a letter extending the deadline. Accordingly, online applications can be made till August 28. So the actual application has to be submitted by 31st August.
