Mega Millions: One lucky Mega Millions player in Austin is celebrating big after purchasing a $1 million winning ticket for Tuesday’s drawing, according to the Texas Lottery. The ticket, sold at CMART on 7811 S. First St., Suite 100, matched all five of the main numbers drawn: 8, 43, 48, 58, 60, but missed the Mega Ball, which was 4.

Jackpot Continues to Climb

While no one hit the massive Mega Millions jackpot, the excitement is far from over. The jackpot has now climbed to a staggering $229 million for the next drawing on Friday, October 25, 2024, with a cash value of approximately $107.4 million. As anticipation builds across the nation, more players are expected to participate in hopes of securing their chance at this life-changing prize.

Recent Austin Lottery Wins

This isn’t the first big win in Austin this month. On October 7, another lucky Austinite won $1 million from a Million Dollar Loteria scratch-off ticket purchased at Pong Springs XPress. Austin has been on a lucky streak, drawing in hopeful lottery players across Texas.

How Mega Millions Works

Players looking to try their luck in Mega Millions need to pick five numbers from 1 to 70 and one Mega Ball number from 1 to 25. To boost their non-jackpot winnings, players can also opt for the Megaplier, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes by up to 5x. Drawings are held twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 p.m. Eastern Time.

Powerball Also Climbing

In addition to Mega Millions, lottery enthusiasts have their eyes on the Powerball, which is also swelling to impressive heights. The Powerball jackpot currently sits at $456 million, with the next drawing scheduled for Wednesday. Powerball drawings take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:59 p.m. Central Time.

What’s Next for Texas Lottery Players?

With two massive jackpots up for grabs, Texas players are buzzing with excitement. Whether it’s Mega Millions or Powerball, the dream of becoming the next multi-millionaire is alive and well in the Lone Star State. Make sure to get your tickets ahead of the next Mega Millions draw this Friday, and keep an eye on Powerball for your chance at another substantial prize.
